He preceded her in death on October 4, 2012. She married Jesse Thomas Jeffries on November 14, 1948, in Lamar, Mo. Vera worked as a bookkeeper for Smallwood Gas Company for many years. She graduated from Jasper High School, class of 1946. Vera Mae Paugh was born December 19, 1928, in Carthage, to the late Urban Paugh and Bealuh (North) Paugh. Jeffries, 88, Carthage, Mo., passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Mo.
